The Green Adventure Gateway Project gathered ideas and created a vision that reimagined the Meadows and Station Road area into a welcoming and environmentally resilient hub.

Imagine if were appointed by Callander Community Development Trust (CCDT) to oversee the project including:

• Facilitate and coordinate weekly steering group meetings and walkabouts, ensuring that all stakeholders were heard and involved in the project

• Gather ideas and concerns from local residents, visitors and stakeholders and display on the ideas map.

• Promote the project and ways to get involved.

• Understand the experience of the Meadows, Station Rd from different perspectives by hosting 2 engagement events in place.

• Host an end of project event to bring all stakeholders together to discuss key concerns and opportunities raised throughout the project.

• Ensure that all information was shared with the appointed landscape consultant Raeburn Farquhar Bowen who produced the overall drawn vision and report.

Importantly, the Green Adventure Gateway formed part of CCDT’s wider efforts to progress Callander’s Local Place Plan. It demonstrated how statutory bodies, community members, and external partners can unite behind a shared vision—one that is ambitious, place-specific, and deliverable.

The result is a strong and actionable foundation for future investment and implementation. As Callander continues to evolve, the Green Adventure Gateway stands as a model for how small towns can align tourism, environment, and community in a resilient and inspiring way.
